The 3.25 inch touchscreen is clear and crisp with a high resolution of 480×360 pixels. Built using a unique new technology, the screen is spring-loaded so the whole screen effectively acts as one big button. When in landscape mode a large QWERTY keyboard appears on screen for easy text input. Browsing the web using the large screen is a good experience. Especially with ‘Cursor Mode’, which gives you an on-screen mouse pointer. You can move your finger around the screen and click on any point with mouse like precision for web links or editing documents. GPS is also present and you’ll receive 6 months free subscription to Vodafone’s Find & Go sat nav service.

The inbuilt music and media player is good and is tightly integrated with Vodafone’s Music Store service where you can download new tracks, albums and listen to 30 second previews of the latest songs. The BlackBerry Storm can also sync with iTunes. There’s 1GB of memory on board, which can be expanded using a memory card. The camera is 3.2 megapixels with autofocus, flash and built Flickr and Facebook applications.

The BlackBerry Curve 8900 actually looks similar to the Blackberry Bold but is smaller, measuring just 109×60x13.5mm. It promises the sharpest BlackBerry display to date, a 2.4 inch widescreen with a resolution of 480×360 pixels. Unlike its big brother the new BlackBerry 8900 has no 3G, it’s a GSM phone with Wi-Fi and GPS satellite navigation. All of the usual BlackBerry applications are on board including BlackBerry Maps, phone, messaging and a good web browser. The new baby BlackBerry has a 3.2 megapixel camera, a full QWERTY keyboard and trackball navigation. There’s a microSD card slot supporting up to 16GB.

The BlackBerry 9000, also known as the BlackBerry Bold, is a smartphone messenger device with a powerful 624 MHz processor and uses the BlackBerry OS 4.6. This mobile phone has a large widescreen aspect display with a high resolution of 480×320 pixels. As with all modern BlackBerry devices, the BlackBerry 9000 Bold has a QWERTY keyboard and a miniature trackball for on screen navigation.

All of the usual BlackBerry features are present too – a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, web browser, media player with DivX support and a 3.5mm stereo audio socket. There’s 1GB of internal memory for storing video, music and other media. This can be upgraded to 8GB using a memory card. In terms of connectivity features, the BlackBerry 9000 Bold has GPS with BlackBerry maps pre-installed, it has Wi-fi, 3G, tri-band HSDPA and quad-band GSM.
